Coxswain NC1 Coastal Navigation and Marine Radio Licence Payment Page

This page is for the Coastal Navigation and Marine Radio Licence enrolment and payment. These components are required Coxswain NC1 who are applying to AMSA for a Coxswain marine qualification to carry passengers in Open Waters. 

To be qualified to carry passengers in Open Waters, Coxswains must have a basic knowledge of Coastal Naviagation.  Successful completion of the Unit of Competency MARH013 “Plan and navigate a passage for a vessel up to 12 metres’ is required. A Coxswain NC1 qualification with the unit MAR013 completed will allow you to carry passengers up to 15 nautical miles to sea. 

All vessel Masters, including recreational vessel operators, must hold a Marine Radio Licence to operate marine radio equipment on board a vessel.

Coastal Navigation program - Complete Course includes all navigation equipment and leads to a final assessment for the Unit of Competency MARH013 - $495.00.
VHF & MF-HF (LROCP) Marine Radio Complete course. $288.00 Includes LROCP online component, access to Competency Simulator and APP, exam papers and final exam. This is the marine radio licence required for Commercial vessel operators.
